Somalia minister of Women and Human rights to attend world summit to end women violation.

Sahra Mohamed Ali Samatar, Somalia minister of Women and Human right is in the US to attend world summit to end violation against Women.

Speaking to VOA Somali service, the minister said “The summit will be focusing how to end Women violation not forgetting other key agendas on the table”.

The minister also said her ministry is planning to complete laws that will prevent violation against Women in the country.

Report released by Social Institution and Gender Index (SIGI) listed Somalia as one of the worst countries for Women to live.

As the 59th session of the commission on the status of women (CSW) gets underway in New York other key agendas to discuss include reviewing the progress made so far in the implementation of Beijing declaration.

This year marks since Beijing Declaration and platform for Action was adopted in the Chinese capital. Agreement meant to end violation against Women around the world.The agreement was signed by 189 countries.

The summit is expected to attract prominent and influential women around the world.
