MMD conducted A debating.  

Maternal Mercy Development (MMD) conducted A debating about the social Awareness Among the violence of women,   Children with civil society, and some people.

As usual, the aim of the A debating was, to raise awareness and prevention of the continuous wide spread of sexual gender based violence, HIV/Aids And F.G.M/SGBV and Breast Feeding, seeking for health & empowerment for Somali women are unsuccessful at becoming pregnant have stress levels in Mogadishu and its surrounding areas.

Mr. Asad Abukar Ali The protection officer  of (MMD)  has opened the meeting and welcomed the participants, the coordinator gave the guests brief information about (MMD) and its current project based on A debating awareness and prevention of SGBV and HIV/Aids, seeking for health & empowerment for Somali women are unsuccessful at becoming pregnant have stress levels.

During the debating the participants admitted that SGBV problems are raising in Mogadishu and its surrounding areas, they also mentioned that SGBV incidents are spreading in the most regions of the country.

In addition to that they acknowledged that it is important to tackle the spread of these incidents since it is are depriving the whole society.

Above all, they argued that women and children are always victims of SGBV because they are vulnerable to these incidents.

Dr Mohamed Moalim teacher of social and Arabic languages Mogadishu University mentioned that SGBV issues existed inside the Somali community for many years ago, Dr Mohamed said “SGBV issues have been existing in the Somali community for so many years due to the cultural rooted perceptions”.

On the other side, Mrs Zam Zam Abdi Mohamed secretary Of (MMD) she told the participant to low early marriages for Somali girls, and develop all Somali Women to get the future good generations.

Dr Abdi Rizak Ahmed (Fatale) from Alfeynuus School in Mogadishu addressed that women and children are vulnerable to SGBV,  He said “due to the ongoing violence and fighting, women and children have become a victim to this harsh environment as a consequence they are vulnerable to gender based violence”.

At the end of the debating the following outcomes were highlighted:

  • To prevent SGBV strong and effective government is needed.
  • Mass advocacy is important
  • Equal employment opportunities scheme have to be developed
  • Marriage proposals have to be facilitated.
  • To support for Somali women are unsuccessful at becoming pregnant have stress levels.

After that, the intellectuals also recommended the following:

  • To enhance and regulate the application of Islamic law
  • To build medical and psychosocial centers for SGBV victims
  • To investigate the root causes of SGBV issues.
  • The survivors of SGBV have to get nutritional and medical supports from government, local and international agencies.
  • to empower women and girl child in the society through education on impacts on fully feeding programs gender based and traditional conflicting issues eg. Female Genital Mutilation [FGM], gender based violence and its reference.
  • To creating awareness on HIV/AIDS scourge by empowering the community on its impacts to reduce the risk of the scourge to the people.
  • To encourage quality production on food crops to increase levels of feeding program related issues, emphasizing on the vitality of peace building society in the stateless country of Somalia.

 RECOMMENDATIONS: 

  • All the people who participated this debate to agreed to continues and empowerment like this debate.
  • To invest the women who don’t have children in order to forget stigma.
  • One of the women have stress due with out pregnancy requested MMDboard to give a hand to forget stigma situations.
  • Finally they suggested thanks for (MMD) who established this important debate.
