MMD ASSISTED LOST CHILD TO REUNITE WITH HIS FAMILY UNEXPECTEDLY.
This was the most extraordinary case in the nine years we have been working in reunification cases.
This case will be in our hearts and gives us pleasure and courage to continue the incredible work we are doing for our society
On Friday,28/04/2017, 8:00 pm, a child aged 6 years old was found at waberi district, Mogadishu, the child has been with tens of young boys before he got lost.
Fortunately, a young girl took the boy to her house. The child did not know where he was or where his family is, the girl offered the lost boy a shelter and food for the night.
In the next morning, the girl reported the news of the lost boy to the local radios and several hours of broadcasting no one claimed the boy as theirs.
After two days, the girl contacted the office of Maternal Mercy and Development, department of family reunification. After we received the boy, by using our expertise we were able to interview the boy and ask him several questions on his family and where the house locates.
Previously, the boy could not talk to the girl or the other people around. After two hours of conversation we decided to take him to his house, we gave him psycho-social support as him to remember the way to his family’s house
We took him with the girl who found him in the first place, the boy slowly started to remember the village and the people around, he then pointed his finger at the direction of the house which located at the outskirts of the capital.
